Why would anyone that's trying to sell their house brand it the Worst House In Edina? It's a fair question.

My thinking, like my preferred wallet style, is three-fold.

  • One: The people have spoken. Ten months, zero offers. Obviously, the home is not on people's must buy lists.

  • Two: Create some buzz. Yes, this whole thing is an attempt to get exposure for my house, drum up some interest and hopefully get it sold. Sure, I could have called it the best starter house in Edina, but who wants to read about that?

  • Third: Relief. Listing a home for ten months can take a toll on a family. There's the obvious stuff like cleaning up after two toddlers and a dog everyday to make sure the house is "walk through" ready. But there are more frustrating factors. One of the biggest is falling in love with houses we want to buy, only to see the opportunity slip by because we can't sell our current home. Equally frustrating is the why question? Why don't people like the house we love so much? Is it really a zit on the unblemished face of Edina? We love our house and it hurts that we can't find someone out there who would love it too.
